This is an example of the sort of reversed film we're hoping to create. I think reverse film is very effective because it makes the viewer really think about what's going on as they have to try and re-reverse it in their head while they're watching it. It all sounds a bit confusing! Anyway, we've reversed some shots of the sea in Wales and when the internet is back up in school we'll be able to upload them onto youtube. Today we filmed a shot of the clouds moving, it's such a simple idea yet it looks so effective when sped up, we reversed the clip but it practically looked the same as in non-reverse so we're not sure!

Inspiration
I've been searching for the opening scene of Fight Club for the past hour now (dedication at it's finest) but I give up! We wanted to show an example of a film that begins with the ending, so hopefully I'll be able to think of another film that uses a similar concept.
Today we were trying to think of some ways in which we could show the character in our film opening as having some sort of mental disability. We thought that it would look good if the character was filmed standing next to quick flashes of herself. Fight Club is a good example of this sort of technique, the main character suffers from insomnia, his fragile mental state is represented in the flashes he sees of his alter-ego. Hopefully we will be able to achieve something like this!

Alan.. Alan! AL!
Let's be honest, this has to have a place on my blog. BBC's 'Walk On The Wild Side' is footage of animals in their natural habitats combined with comedy voice overs and the end result is hilarious!

Ski video
This is a short film by The Sherpas Cinema featuring JP Auclair skiing through a small town in British Columbia. There are several different interesting camera angles that we could use in our film opening... If only we could ski like that too!

John Lewis Tv Advert
We watched this advert in class and I personally think that it's one of the best adverts of the year! The advert shows a boy and a girl from two different worlds and their story of love. Looking at the world from the point of view of a woman living in 1925 and a man living in the present day lets us see the world from a new perspective. As most of the advert is edited to be in split screen, we are able to see the two characters carrying out the same daily activities but as though they're in a different time because all of the clothes, buildings, cars etc are like they were in the 1920's. It is also filmed as if the two characters can see and touch each other even though they can't. However, it may also be filmed from the perspective that the characters can actually see and touch each other and maybe it's just as though they're from different worlds.
